Continue to pray for a HEART CHANGE among believers here in the Greater Montgomery area...only through God changing our hearts and we being open to the Holy Spirit using US to reach people can this area be changed. Politics, news talk rants, policies, laws can't change hearts. Would you consider being used by the Lord today to bring hope and healing to someone?

Galatians 5:25-26
"If we live by the Spirit, let's also walk by the Spirit. Let's not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another".

History of Montgomery Prayer Network

EVERYONE who is a follower of Christ is invited to participate.

In the winter of 2008, a group of committed church leaders from the Montgomery Baptist churches got together as part of a strategic focus group. They started praying, talking and networking to see what the "future story" might be for Montgomery Baptist churches. Early on, members of this strategy team committed to 100 days of prayer and discernment, forming prayer triplets, listening and journaling to see what God wanted for Montgomery Baptist Association churches to do. Out of that prayer time, these leaders identified several things needed for our churches to be effective in bringing people to Christ.

They are:

1. Any significant change in Montgomery must begin with a change in believers' hearts.

2. Since God changes hearts, prayer must be a top priority for Christ-followers in Montgomery in order to see any transformation.

3. The local church is "ground zero" for Kingdom work.

With that in mind, a group of prayer leaders from local churches met in December of 2008 and began to brainstorm about ideas that would help local churches be more intentional about praying for Montgomery.

In this group, you will find several resources.

1. Prayer requests for Montgomery, specifically in 5 areas of need: Crime, Poverty, Schools, Racial Relations and Abused or Misused Affluence

2. Ideas to keep prayer needs before you and your congregation- There will be prayer guides specific to the Montgomery area available upon request.

3. Events that might take place in the greater Montgomery area that pertain to reaching people for Christ and praying for the city

"Seek the peace of the city..... and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace." Jeremiah 29:7 NKJV
