Are You A Pew Potato or Are You On Mission?

At the Montgomery Baptist Association Ministers Conference today, we heard from two church planters in our area. Steve Walters(The Church at Pike Road) and Paul Gourdine(Engaged Christian Church). They are working to reach people who either have been disenfranchised from church or have never been. They are building missional communities. If you join this group of believers, you are a missionary to the Greater Montgomery area. One person in the meeting said, " No pew potatoes" and that is exactly right! Everyone who follows Christ should never be a "pew potato". Everyone should be "on mission" in their daily lives. That is what this prayer page is for. We pray about our own hearts being changed and seeing people through God's eyes, not our own.

What about you? Are you a "pew potato" or are you "on mission" where you work, live and/or go to school.

Here are some prayer requests for our beloved Greater Montgomery Area.

1. Pray for these church plants and others around the Greater Montgomery area who are working to bring people to Christ and sometimes doing it in tangible ways.

2. Pray for our established churches, that they will challenge each and every attender to be "on mission" in their daily lives.
3. Pray for ourselves, that we would be on mission and not just sit in a pew on a Sunday or Wednesday, that we would be actively living the gospel each day.

"You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you". John 15:16
