Losing Our Life In Order to Share the Gospel Through Prayer

For followers of Christ, Easter is all year long if we want to be real here. So, with that Easter mindset, let's start out this week with a reminder for us all as we go through this week.

Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. – John 12:25-26 (NIV)

How will you "lose your life for Christ" this week?  Remember that in "losing ourselves for others, we find a deeper and more renewed sense of our relationship with Christ."

Prayer Requests this Week:

1. I just heard that there is going to be an intentional church plant downtown for millennials this next year. Pray that the Gospel of Christ will be breathed into the hearts and minds of those who are in that people group.
2. Continue to pray for the people group, the Mixtec, who live in our city. There is a church plant in the works, probably in the Chisholm community. Many have shown interest in this within the community.
3. Pray for the "changing of the guard" regarding our governor. Pray for our new Gov. Ivey as she sorts out things things. Pray for a hedge of protection around her.
4. Pray for the hearts and minds of ALL people in the Greater Montgomery area. Heart change IS the ONLY way to solve the crime, school, race, poverty and consumer religion issues in our area. Christ is the answer for all of these issues. And pray for followers of Christ in the area to see these issues too in a different light from before.

“Don’t begin by traveling to some far-off place to convert unbelievers. And don’t try to be dramatic by tackling some public enemy. Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons. You have been treated generously, so live generously."
Matthew 10:5-8 The Message
